Insights into the global market for amino acids

Creatine in free fall

Over the last year, the market for creatine has been very strained. While only very limited quantities were available worldwide in 2022, the picture now seems to be changing. New, small producers are entering the market and are trying to gain market share with an aggressive pricing strategy.

This poses major challenges for our long-established partners, as this trend is countered by increased production costs (raw materials, energy, etc.) from their perspective.

We are continually monitoring the market, and our colleagues in sales will be happy to provide you with advice and support.

Amino acids on course to ease up

Most food amino acids have largely stabilized again in origin. Manufacturers describe the last year as very challenging in terms of the order situation, to which they are now responding with corresponding price corrections. One selected price driver from Europe is certainly the general economic situation, which will continue to influence demand.

In the case of L-carnitine, new capacities have recently led to price collapses, although the trend is gradually stagnating.
